Submit a Vote or Review for Meridiana Meridiana is reported to have the following aircraft fleet: 4 Airbus A319 100 16 McDonnell Douglas MD80 3 ATR 42 300 Meridiana started life in 1964 as Alisarda, using an 8 seater plane from the Italian mainland to Sardinia, carry 186 passengers in their first year. By the 1970's they were operating two jet aircraft. The name of the airline was changed to Meridiana in 1991 and they now have a fleet of 23 Aircraft,including 4 Airbus 319. During 2005, Meridiana transported 4.5 million passengers,operating several routes within Italy, between Italy and Sardinia or Sicily, plus a small number of international routes.
