05/05/10 Volcanic Ash Expected to Spread South Across Ireland
The Irish Avaition Authority stated this morning that the increassed activity from the Icelandic volcano yesterday is expected to result in the ash cloud spreading south over Ireland. As a result, the following airports will have restriction today:
Donegal - from 8.00am today
Sligo - from 9.00am today.
Dublin - from 11.00am today.
Ireland West (Knock) - from 11.00am today.
Cork, Waterford and Kerry are likely to have restrictions this afternoon, with Shannon and Galway on the west coast remaining clear at present.
The Civil Aviation Authority expect airports in Northern Ireland to be closed this afternoon, with airports in the west of Scotland also closed.
Some airports in northern England may become affected by restrictions later today.
