23/06/10 Union to Ballot BA Cabin Crew on Further Strike Action if no Agreement by 29th June
Unite, the union representing British Airways cabin crew who have been taking strike action this year, have given BA an ultimatum to settle the dispute by Tuesday 29th of June or it will ballot it's members on further strike action.
Unite members are to be balloted in the period from 29th June to 27th July, indicating that the earliest that strikes could start would be the 4th August.
BA are stating that should strikes go ahead, "We will strengthen our contingency plans, aiming to operate 100 per cent of our longhaul schedule and a substantial proportion of our shorthaul schedule from Heathrow"
The airline also expects to run flights as normal from London Gatwick and London City in the event of a strike.
