26/03/12 General Strike Spain 29/03/12 Expected to Affect Transport

A general strike, called by the two biggest unions in Spain, is expected to impact transport, although at present the affect on flights is unknown.

The official information is that a minimum of 20% of the European internationl flights and 10% of domestic flights will take place, however airlines have not given any details of cancellations as far as we are aware.
It is also not clear yet whether airport workers or air traffic control will be involved in the strike.

It is quite likely that public transport will be seriously affected by the strike so any passengers travelling on that day should take this into account.
