Lviv Airport, otherwise known as Lvov Airport, is located 6 Km west of central Lviv, a historic city in western Ukraine.
A $200 million expansion project, including a new terminal, is underway at Lviv airport in preparation for the 2012 UEFA European Football Championships.
There is a bus connection between the airport and the city, taking approximately 25 minutes.
Road networks around Lviv Airport are not good but are due to be upgraded before 2012.
The main train station in Lviv has main routes radiating out giving access to other parts of the country and Poland.
Facilities at Lviv airport are currently limited but do include a drinks machine, bar and an ATM.
297,000 passengers were catered for by Lviv Airport during 2011, a 38% drop from 2010 (at least partly due to airport restrictions while improvements are taking place) when a record number of 482,000 passengers passed through the airport.
