Formerly Jat Airways, the national airline of Yugoslavia and then Serbia, Air Serbia has a fleet of approximately 17 aircraft.
The airline is government owned although there had been a failed attempt at privatisation in 2008, after a number of airlines had shown an interest in the previous year.
In 2013 it was announced that Etihad Airways of the UAE was to buy a 49% stake in the airline and the airline was to be re branded as Air Serbia.
Air Serbia transported 2.6 million passengers in 2017, a similar number to the previous year.
