Munich Airport, otherwise known as Franz Josef Strauss International Airport, is located 27Km North East of Munich, the third largest city in the country, Bavaria.

The airport has 2 terminals, Terminal 1 being divided into Halls A,B,C,D,and E, while Terminal 2 used for Star Alliance airlines is divided into Halls G and H.
Hall F is a separate secure terminal close to Terminal 2.
A satellite extension to Terminal 2 entered service in 2016, increasing the airports capacity by a further 11 million passengers.

Munich airport has won praise for the design and facilities of Terminal 2 enabling passengers to make flight connections with short times on the ground.

To and From the Airport


There is a train link from the airport to Munich via the S/Bahn S1 link, or the S8 link, where there are connections to mainline train services. Trains run every 10 minutes.
There are also bus services from the airport.
A number of Munich hotels provide a shuttle service to and from the airport.

Terminal Facilities


Facilities include 60 bars/restaurants, 9 banks, approximately 150 shops, 7 VIP lounges, a childrens play area, Internet access point and free unlimited WiFi Internet access.

The Munich Airport Centre (MAC) is a shopping, business and recreation area situated between the two terminals.

There are fuel stations on the approaches to both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
