Berlin Airport, otherwise known as Schoenefeld Airport, is located 24Km South East of Berlin, and the main airport for the city.
Berlin Schoenefeld airport is due to expand and become the new Berlin Brandenburg airport (orignially due to open in 2010, then 3rd June 2012 but now may not open until 2021), replacing Berlin Tegel which is due to close at some point, and Berlin Tempelhof airport (closed 2008).
To and From the Airport
Schoenefeld airport has its own train station situated 500m from the terminals, with a connecting covered walkway, giving good city connections.
The 113 motorway link enables a car journey of 30 minutes to central Berlin.
There are also good bus connections to Berlin.
Terminal Facilities
The airport has 10 bars/restaurants, 10 shops, VIP lounge, currency exchange, ATMs and WiFi Internet access (free for 60 minutes), and an observation deck (payment required).
