Berlin Tegel has 4 interconnecting terminals, Terminal A being the main hexagonal shaped terminal with B, C and D being nearby.
Berlin Tegel Airport was due to close on 2nd June 2012 after the expansion of Berlin Schonefeld, which will then be known as Berlin Brandenburg.
However in early 2012, the opening of Berlin Brandenburg airport was postponed until October 2013, but now may not open until 2021.
Tegel airport is now expected to remain open until Brandenburg airport eventually opens. In the mean-time, it has been reported that Tegel airport will now get a 50 million Euro face-lift.
The airport has however still been undergoing expansion as required, with Terminal C having been opened in 2007 to accommodate the number of Air Berlin flights.
